There are lots of things happening over the next several weeks -- here's a summary. . .
Thanks to everyone who supported Calvary's Sacandinavian Bake Sale, whether by donating bakery, or by purchasing sweet treats. By closing time, we sold just about everything everything that was donated. The proceeds will support a variety of ministries at Calvary.
Headwaters Conference Meeting -- representatives from Calvary will attend the annual Headwaters Conference Meeting on October 20. The Headwaters Conference is a sub-group of the Northern Great Lakes Synod composed of congregations in Minocqua, Rhinelander, Eagle river, Three Lakes and Conover.
Food for Kidz -- Volunteers are needed for the annual Food for Kida event on Saturday, October 26 at the High School. There are two shifts: #1 from 9:00 to 11:00, and #2 from 11:30 to 1:30. Reformation Sunday -- We commemorate the Reformation at worship on October 27. Our guest musicians for the day are the Celebration Brass. The service will feature liturgical music and hymns set in the style of Polka Music. It should be fun.
All Saints Sunday -- We remember All the Saints on Sunday, November 3. If you would like us to remember someone close to you who died since All Saints in 2023, contact the church office to let us know their name.
Community Table -- The next Community Table Meal will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 5:00pm at the Episcople Church. Calvary joins with Ascension in preparing and serving the meal. Calvary is responsible for cooking the dressing, the green bean casserole, and the turkey and gravy. A sign up sheet listing ingredients that can be donated is posted on the Kiosk. Let us know what you can share.

Calvary is looking for a new secretary. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, starting at $15 per hour. The secretary is responsible for tasks such as: producing bulletins and newsletters, entering data in the church management software, maintaining a calendar of church events, managing our loan closet, posting to social media and the web page, and similar clerical work. If you, or someone you know is interested, contact the church office for a more detailed job description and an application form.

Email Address Update -- Over a year ago we switched our Telephone and Internet service from Frontier to Spectrum. By now, most of our contacts have updted their address books to the church's new primary email: celc2@calvaryelc.org -- but if you have yet to do so, please do it now as we have finally disabled the old frontier.com address. We also have a secondary email: celc2calvary@gmail.com -- that you may also use to contact the church or Pastor Max.
Scandinavian Bake Sale -- Our annual bake sale is not until October -- but if you want lefse we recommend that you submit your order soon. A signup sheet is posted on the kiosk in the fellowship hall, or you can contact us by phone or email and we will add your name to the list.
Notice of Annual Meeting -- Calvary's annual meeting will be held on Sunday, September 22, immediately after the morning worship service (aproximately 10:00am).

Fredrick Place Meal -- We will be serving Chicken ala King over Rice this month. Thanks to everyone who provided ingredients, helped with cooking, and delivered the meal. We provide a meal every month. Our needs for the next meal will be posted in a couple of weeks.
Council Meeting -- The church council meets on Monday at 3:00pm.
WELCA -- The Women of the ELCA group meets on Wednesday, August 7 at 9:30am.
Rummage Sale -- Thanks to everyone who helped with our annual rummage sale. Whether you donated things to sell, helped with the sale itselt, or bought some goddies to take home, your support is appreciated.

Our annual rummage sale will take place on Saturday, August, 3. Doors open at 8:30am and the sale concludes at 2:00pm. We have clothes, home decor, kitchen and dining items, sports equipment -- and much more.
