Garden News:  Our garden this year produced abundantly, with it going over one TON in weight that was sent to the pantry!  Woohoo!

Lefse for Sale:  As usual, the bake sale was a huge success this year.  However, we did not sell out of lefse as we normally do, so there is leftover lefse in the freezer, which is for sale at $8 for a package of 3.  If you are interested in purchasing any, please contact Pastor Max.

Frederick Place Meal:  The next meal that will be hosted by Calvary will be a Halloween meal on October 31st. See the sign-up sheet on the kiosk for ingredients needed for this meal… sign up for anything you are able and willing to bring!

All Saints Sunday:  November 1 is All Saints Sunday.  We will, as always, be honoring those who have passed since the 2025 All Saints Sunday.  If there is someone you would like to put on the list of names that will be read, please let the office know, along with the name of the person who will be lighting the candle for them (you or someone else).

Scandinavian Bake & Craft Sale:  This event will be held on October 10, 2026 from 8:30 am to 1 pm.  Lefse has been made.  The sign-up sheet for other goodies is still on the kiosk.  Supplies for baked goods are available through a grant from Thrivent.  Pick out what you need in the kitchen.  Don’t forget to invite your friends and neighbors.  October 9th is a work day to make rosettes, KrumKake and other items.

75th Anniversary Celebration:  The celebration on Sunday the 27th turned out extremely well, thanks to all who helped in any way to prepare for it!  We served 64 people at communion and close to that many at the dinner.  We sent home leftovers with anyone who cared to take some.  Comments have included great accolades for the choir, wonderful sermon by Rev. James Wiberg, and phenomenal meal prepared by so many of you.  We know of several others who had planned to be here but at the last minute were unable to attend due to illness.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING including CONSTITUTION NOTICE:  This important meeting is today following an abbreviated fellowship time after the worship service.  

PREPARE FOR THE CELEBRATION:  Next week, September 27th, we will have a special service for Calvary’s 75th anniversary, followed by music, guests, activities, and a pot luck meal featuring 1950s cuisine.

PASS THE BOXES:  We are in need of a pass the boxes brigade to get our LWR boxes of kits and quilts up the stairs.  They will be picked up on Tuesday.

NO SATURDAY WORSHIP:  There will be no Saturday worship service next Saturday, September 26th.

CONSTITUTION NOTICE:  At the September 20th Annual Meeting, the congregation will be asked to change C5.05 of our constitution to say that we have a Mission Endowment Fund. We will also vote to delete C9.03.01 which duplicates C9.04.01. A copy of the resolutions is posted on the kiosk. 

Annual Reports for the fiscal year 7/1/25 thru 6/30/26 are now available on the table in the entryway.  Please feel free to take one if you wish to review it prior to the meeting on 9/20/26.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE:  There will be a Celebration of Life for Dave Schlichting on Saturday, September 12 with a funeral lunch to follow.  An email was sent to most of you ladies who sometime are able to provide dishes for such an event, but if you would like to do so and you did not receive the email, please see the sign-up sheet on the kiosk.
