Emergency Handled:  It is Easter and from the ashes comes new life, that is our faith. We have an example from our own kitchen. On Wednesday we had an electrical snafu [a technical term for a malfunction] in the ceiling light.  It began a small fire that a Hazelhurst fireman, who was here, put out with our extinguisher.  The AA group was meeting at the time and they quickly moved themselves outside for their gathering. When Pastor returned from a visit the fire was out but there was extinguisher dust throughout the kitchen and fellowship hall and lots of excitement.  After a phone call to Dave C., who contacted an electrician and to Penny, who came to begin the cleaning, the work began.  Pastor contacted our insurance company and will have our Cintas man refill our fire extinguisher. Arbor Vitae Electric worked throughout the afternoon restoring ‘new light’ to our kitchen. Confirmation class was moved to the Boisvert home. We have some other safety arrangements to make and the cleaning continues. We are blessed with many who have pitched in with our latest emergency.

CALLING ALL GARDENERS!  Sow a Row of Veggies for Lakeland Pantry.  While the Pantry receives no direct Government funding, some of their suppliers do.  Government cuts have impacted our suppliers’ ability to provide fresh produce.  Since our clients depend on the Pantry for fresh produce, you can help by sowing an extra row of the vegetable of your choice.    When your crop is ready to harvest, bring it to Lakeland Pantry on Tuesday mornings (8-11:30 am) or Thursday afternoons (3-6 pm).  Lakeland Pantry is located at 1707 Hwy. 51 N Arbor Vitae, across from the Harley Davidson dealership and next to Krist Gas.   Questions?  email Lorna Springate at lakelandpantry@hyfinc.org.  Thank you!
