CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR’S EVE:  

  • Worship on Christmas Eve will be held at 7 p.m.
  • On New Year’s Eve, there will be a pot luck meal at 5 p.m., with worship at 6 p.m.

12/7/25

FREDERICK PLACE MEAL:  The next meal will be Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 5 p.m.  The menu will be ham, Au Gratin potatoes, baked beans (Susie’s recipe), with holiday cookies and ice cream.  Watch the kiosk for a sign-up sheet for foods/ingredients needed.

COMMUNITY TABLE: This will be Tuesday, December 9th.  See the sign-up sheet on the kiosk.

FIRST COMMUNION:  We welcome Braylon Willey as he receives his first communion today.  He joins us in the family of faith.  Braylon is Elaine Kuhlmann’s great-grandson.

  • On New Year’s Eve, there will be a pot luck meal at 5 p.m. Bring a game to share so that some can play together as others clean up from the meal.  At 6 p.m., we will use the Holden Service of Evening Prayer to seek the Lord’s guidance and blessings as we look forward to another year.

CHECK MAILBOXES:  If you didn’t check your mailbox slot last week, please do so today. The December Chimes and Home Touch documents have been placed in your box if you subscribe to them.  Please let the office know if you do not wish to receive either of these any longer OR if you haven’t been receiving them and would like to be added to the subscribing list.

WORLD HUNGER SUNDAY:  November has five Sundays, so today is World Hunger Sunday.  Please prayerfully consider giving as able to this very essential mission.

Frederick Place Meal: On November 22nd, the menu will be Cajun Beans, Rice and Sausage, Cornbread, Fruit Salad, and Bars (suggested are apple, pumpkin, or custard).  The sign-up sheet to bring ingredients is on the kiosk.

Christmas Poinsettias:  Hopefully, everyone has seen the information regarding Christmas Poinsettias in the November Chimes, which was distributed last week.  If you wish to donate any poinsettias for this, please turn in your order to the office by Tuesday, November 18th.  Refer to the order information in the November Chimes!  Makes checks out to Calvary WELCA.

Community Table: November 11th is the Community Table meal.  The signup form for bringing items needed is on the kiosk.  Please sign up and bring meal items by Monday, November 10th.  We are expecting a good crowd for the wonderful turkey dinner.  More workers are needed also.

Happy Birthday!  Art Bawden is sharing his birthday cake for coffee hour.  Happy birthday to Art on November 11th.

Aluminum Cans Collection:  The easy money earned is not easy when other items are in the bag, like bottles, pie tins, etc.  Please rinse your cans and let them dry before adding them to your bag.  The recycler takes only the cans.  Tell your friends please.

is a United States federal observance declared by

then-President George W. Bush to commemorate

the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communist rule

in Central and Eastern Europe.  It started in 2001

and is celebrated on November 9th.

Tom’s Community Table: Tuesday, November 11, at 5 PM at St. Matthias will be the traditional Thanksgiving Meal that we host and serve with Ascension.  Sign up for items on the kiosk. You may also make donations toward turkey and potatoes. Worker sign-up will also be posted. This is usually a well-attended meal and Paul’s chef skills are tasty, especially the wonderful stuffing. Hot apple cider will be a special treat.
