Calvary Endowment Fund

Spurred on by generous bequest from the late Mary Anderson, Calvary is in the process of establishing a Mission Endowment Fund. Once it is fully established, the fund will provide monetary resources above and beyond our general operating budget to fund mission and ministry for the local community, for ELCA nation-wide and world-wide ministries and programs, as well as helping with capital improvements and/or debt reduction in the congregation.

Currently the Endowment Fund Planning Committee is preparing bylaws and continuing resolutions for our constitution that will be presented for congregational approval at our annual meeting in September 2025. (See Calvary's Constitution C5.05. A copy of the proposed bylaws will be posted here as soon as the final draft has been approved by the committee.)

Once the constitution has been amended, an Endowment Fund Committee of three to five voting members will be elected to oversee the growth and fiscal management of the fund, as well as reviewing and recommending disbursements in accordance with the purpose of the fund.

While Mary Anderson's bequest provided the impetus to establish the endowment fund, Calvary will continue to receive and celebrate gifts given to the fund for mission and ministry. Members and friends of the congregation are encouraged to consider growing the fund via donations, bequests, life insurance proceeds, and remainders from life income agreements. Contact your financial advisor and the church office when planning a gift to the endowment fund.
