Spurred on by generous bequest from the late Mary Anderson, Calvary has established a Mission Endowment Fund. The fund will provide monetary resources above and beyond our general operating budget to fund mission and ministry in the local community, to provide support for ELCA church-wide and world-wide ministries and programs, as well as helping with capital improvements and/or debt reduction in the congregation.
At the 2025 Annual Meeting the inaugural Endowment Fund Committee was elected to oversee the growth and fiscal management of the fund, as well as reviewing and recommending disbursements in accordance with the purpose of the fund. Since their formation, the committee has created an application form for requesting grants and established administrative procedures for managing and disbursing funds.
While Mary Anderson's bequest provided the initital funds to establish the endowment fund, Calvary will continue to receive and celebrate gifts given to the fund for mission and ministry. Members and friends of the congregation are encouraged to consider growing the fund via donations, bequests, life insurance proceeds, and remainders from life income agreements.
