Pastor Max's Keyboard Is Clicking. . .

During these summer months we hear many stories about Jesus encountering people while he travels throughout the area. We see good examples from those who show compassion, who give the witness that provides a clear picture of what it means to follow Jesus. The church’s lectionary celebrates what it means to be church -- a community of individuals that demonstrate the image of God as they live out their lives. If you attend campground services or gather within the church building or view the online recording at home, apply what you hear to your life. Our God is merciful, forgiving our mistakes. There are also opportunities generously provided to us, so that we may produce good fruit through our dealings with each other.

Jesus is certainly sorrowful over the terrible turmoil that exists and is escalating in the very land where he grew up. It seems we refuse to learn from the past and recognize that war only brings destruction and death. Hear what the psalmist has to say and let it speak to your heart.

Psalm 15

1 Lord, who may dwell in your tabernacle? Who may abide upon your holy hill?

2 Those who lead a blameless life and do what is right, who speak the truth from their heart;

3 they do not slander with the tongue, they do no evil to their friends; they do not cast discredit upon a neighbor.

4 In their sight the wicked are rejected, but they honor those who fear the Lord. They have sworn upon their health and do not take back their word.

5 They do not give their money in hope of gain, nor do they take bribes against the innocent. Those who do these things shall never be overthrown.
